Baselworld 2016 - top 8 luxury watches announcements

With 1.5 million square meters of exhibition space, 20,000 service staffs, 6,000 security personnel, Basel World is one of the world biggest trendsetting exhibitions you should visit at least once in lifetime.

Basel World is known as the world’s largest Watches and Jewelry trade and exhibition. The event where  luxury watches are launched does not only attract the attention of the rich men but also those watches enthusiasts. This is because all the watch exhibited here are creatively crafted by the skilful hands of the artist masters from the top world leading watch brands.

This trendsetting eventtakes place from 17 March to 24 March at Basel - Switzerland with about 150,000 attendees (including companies exhibitors, buyers, tourists and others) and also 4,000 newspapers representatives from all continents. The exhibition is taking place in the area of 1.5 million square meters, with the participation of those leading luxury watch brands such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Omega, Breguet, Arnold & Son, ... also a lot of watch and jewellery vendors and manufacturers.

Here are the most outstanding watches were introduced in the first few days at 2016 Basel World.

1. ArtyA Cumbere Tourbillon & ArtyA Son Of Sound Magic Black Tourbillon

ArtyA is a brand that established by the Swiss designer, named Yvan Arpa. This pair of watches is very distinctive by not only having a long name but also with the catchy design. Both have the same case which measures 37mm wide, 49mm tall, and 15mm thick. The pair is made of an alloy made out of gold and recycled bullets, and black PVD.
The ArtyA Tourbillon watches are noticed with the large sapphire crystals that cover the front and back of the case. And it features a unique hand-wound flying tourbillon movement. Because the ability of 100 hours of power reserve, they obviously do not have the cheap price  at all, one costs 175 thousand dollars, and another one cost up to 185 thousand dollars.

2. Bulova CURV - with the World’s First Curved Chronograph Movement

Bulova CURV brings the first chronograph timepiece in the world with a beautiful curved titanium and easily follow the contours of your wrist. The Bulova CURV clock is sold with 2 versions, the version made of titanium material is cost $ 899 and $ 799 for the stainless steel one.

3. De Bethune DB28 & DB28T Tourbillon ‘Kind Of Blue’

The luxury dark blue timepiece is produced in limited quantities, only 10 units this year for 150 thousand dollars per watch. In the next year, there will be only 5 units shipped per year and the price is increased to 250 thousand dollars. Together with having the ultra fast tourbillon, it is also the lightest watch in the world with its minuscule 0.20 grammes for 63 parts compressed.

4. Blancpain Villeret Quantième Annual GMT

The elegant Blancpain watch has 40mm case in stainless steel and rose gold, combining with 22mm leather belt size and frame made from stainless steel. The price for this watch is $ 27.300.

5. NORD Zeitmaschine Freesdial

Being a young watch manufacturing since 1998, NORD Zeitmaschine proved the ability with a very eye-catching and outstanding design. The Freedial uses Swiss a classical ETA 2824, here mainly used for the storage of energy and the gear train. It it comprised of 27 parts, features 30 jewels and14 microballbearings. Freesdial has the possibility of 42-hour power reserve, with its selling price of $ 23.700.

6. Two MCT Sequential S210

MCT Sequential Two S210 is the latest design evolution of 2009’s Sequential One. This time, Sequential S210 is appearing in a rounded case in extremely premium grade-5 titanium construction, measures 46.4mm x 15.1mm. Sequential S210 has an automatic movement at 2.5Hz together with a 40-hour power reserve. Far from its previous brothers, it now includes up to 654 components and 89 jewels. Only 50 pieces of the new MCT Sequential Two S210 will be produced with the price of $ 72.500.

7. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Master Chronometer GMT

The myth of Omega dive watches is that you can take it underwater near the 600m, 3 times more than the normal watch when diving. It is also the first watch in the world, using bi-ceramic material (Zr02)  polished bezel insert. Using METAS-certified Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8906, this timepiece is capable of storing energy to more than 60 hours and having sapphire glass property. The price of this watch is quite "cheap", which is only $ 7,000.

8. Labyrinth Hautlence Playground

Hautlence owns probably the most bizarre watches at the Basel World. Right at the first glance, everyone can tell that it is exactly the small mysterious maze game. And of course, this maze game doesn't tell time like other watches, and it rather gains your time, absolute concentration and skill. The Labyrinth is made from rose gold or stainless steel. If you like to own a Labyrinth, to remind of this childhood game, you will have to spend $ 7,000.
